Out of these experiments I personally like number 4 the most. Without having to completely change the wallpaper I believe that the original looks better with the scene. The green will probably look better with a different wallpaper pattern but due to time constraints I'd rather explore the possibility of a new wallpaper after graduation.
Yes, don't change the wallpaper design, the colour is helping already. I prefer the 2nd tweak with the lighter rug.
